Choosing a custom color for your COAX Gen2 speakers involves a fascinating process that ensures both beauty and durability. Here’s how we transform our aluminum housings into vibrant, colorful components:

  1. Degreasing: The housings are thoroughly cleaned to remove any oils or impurities.
  2. Pickling: A mild acid solution is used to eliminate surface oxides.
  3. Skinning: The surface is smoothed to prepare it for anodizing.
  4. Anodizing: The housing is immersed in an acid bath, and an electrical current creates a strong, protective oxidation layer.
  5. Dyeing: The housing is placed in a dye bath, where the dye penetrates the porous oxide layer, giving it a vibrant color.
  6. Compressing: This seals the dye within the oxide layer, ensuring long-lasting color.
  7. Drying: The housing is dried thoroughly to complete the process.

This detailed anodizing process not only provides a stunning finish but also ensures exceptional durability. The resulting aluminum housing resists environmental factors, including light-induced discoloration, so your speakers will maintain their custom look for years to come.
